Hugo Chavez: Khadafi A Great Warrior

Caracas - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez expressed his anger over the death of former Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi. He argues, Gaddafi is a fighter who was willing to sacrifice to the death.

"They (NATO) have killed him (Gaddafi). We will remember the entire life of Gaddafi as a great fighter, a revolutionary and martyr," said Chavez, as reported by news.com.au, Friday (10/21/2011)

Chavez also refuses to recognize the new regime in Libya. She named the UN representative in Libya as a stupid doll. He even once called the Libyan rebels as terrorists and called on other countries to sever ties with the National Transition Council against Gaddafi.

"We refuse to acknowledge the National Transition Council. We say that the European countries and others have recognized terrorist groups and give them legitimacy," said Chavez as quoted by AFP on Monday (1 / 8)

Chavez did defend Gaddafi since the beginning of the uprising against the regime of Gaddafi in February. He accused NATO exploit the conflict for control of oil in Libya.

In 2004, Chavez has been awarded pengahrgaan by Al-Gaddafi International Prize in the field of Human Rights (Human Rights). Previously, Cuban President Fidel Castro and Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega also won the award.(detiknews)
